2016 Bakken Oilers Finish 2nd at NAHC Early Bird
The 2016 Bakken Oilers opened their spring season with a strong showing at the NAHC Early Bird, finishing 2nd place after an impressive weekend of competition.
The Oilers put together a great tournament run and showed the skill, depth, and compete level that continue to define Bakken Oilers hockey. Reaching the championship game and finishing runner-up is a strong early result for this group and a great way to start the season.
Offensively, Alex Andreasen led the way with 11 points in 6 games, recording 5 goals and 6 assists. Jack Jaspers followed with 9 points, including a team-high 7 goals, while Grayson Blomberg added 8 points on 5 goals and 3 assists. Burkley Warner also had a big weekend with 7 points.
The Oilers also received balanced scoring throughout the lineup. Jon Armitage and Wyatt Sayler each finished with 5 points, while Eli Suess, Ford Thompson, and Kershaw Shearer each added 3 points. James Shanahan, Braxtyn Oswill, and Reagan Roteliuk also contributed during the tournament run.
A runner-up finish at a high-level early spring event is something this team should be proud of. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on a great weekend and a strong start to the season.
